Week in Review December 21

I’m talking about two books this week and they’re both variants.
The first one came out last week and I didn’t talk about it because honestly I didn’t realize it existed. Last week saw IDW release two Transformers Universe books, Optimus Prime #1 which I spoke about last week, and Lost Light #1. Both featured high ratio Paul Pope variant covers – and as with all transformers comic books, most retailers did not order this title or ordered very low quantities not qualifying them to receive the high ratio variants which has already drive up the price.

Two copies of The Lost Light #1 1:50 variant sold this week for $140 to $150. This book is on fire with no where to go but up and its definitely a book that should be on your radar.

A book that came out this week that you should be looking for is the 1:25 Marco Checchetto Gamora #1 variant cover. This book is starting to sell for $50 which is great for a 1:25 incentive variant cover. While this book will probably not hold at this price its a great book to be looking for this week for the quick flip.

Week in Review December 14

This week saw the release of Atoll #1 – the second comic book about a predator shark in the last few weeks. (the other being White #1 from Devils Due). Atoll is written by Tim Daniel of Enormous and has sold out on diamond and almost all online retailers. Selling on ebay for $20 to $25. Atoll is published by Creative Mind Energy and could be at your local comic book store.

Another book that came out this week that you should be looking for is the high ratio variant of the new Transformers comic book Optimus Prime #1. The Optimus Prime #1 1:50 Paul Pope cover selling for $60 to $70. This is a book to be watching as transformers books are notorious for low print runs and have a large niche collecting market. This book should have long holding value.

The big comic book news that came out this week was that the Harley Quinn Suicide Squad spin-off film produced by and starring Margot Robbie would be titled Gotham City Sirens and featuring both Poison Ivy and Catwoman as Harley Quinn love interests.

latest-1

The book Gotham City Sirens has exploded on ebay – raw copies of Gotham City Sirens #1 have sold for $50 to $90 with CGC 9.8 graded copies going for $190 to 250, with the J.G. Jones Variant $900 or best offer Buy it Now Auction selling just after the news broke – with the current lowest price copy sitting at $675.  This is book that has always been pricey in comparison to other modern books however it can still be found in the wild for under ebay completed sale prices!

WORD?!?! Guardians of the Galaxy NEW Character

I havn’t made a post in a few weeks mainly because it has been very slow this month. Not a lot of books to report on. Here is one book that should start seeing heat.

Today (December 1) James Gunn went to faceook to reveal a new character in the Guardians of the Galaxy film.

Meet Brahl – created in 1977 – a “minion of menace” and bad guy in Guardians of the Galaxy universe. This book will most likely see a small increase in value once news spreads of the characters introduction into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. – That book is Thor Annual #6.
