Last week saw the release of Aftershock Comics, Pestilence #1. Pestilence sold out at the distributor on day of release, copies of the book have been selling for double to triple cover price – Copies of the standard cover is currently selling for around $8.
While the 1:10 variant cover is selling for $20 to $30 – both retailer variants – The Comic Mint and Eh! Variant seem to be selling like gangbusters on the secondary market.
Another Aftershock title that has been seeing a lot of attention is Baby Teeth. Baby teeth features art by Garry Brown and is written by Donny Cates. This book has had a lot of buzz based on the success of Donny Cates previous projects God Country and Redneck. Baby teeth is due for release on June 7 and will have the largest print run of any Aftershock title, its also set to have 5+ retailer variant covers. So why is this important? If retailer order and prerelease buzz are any indication, Baby Teeth is going to be big and when its released people are going to start trying to hunt down the first appearance of the title and its characters. The first appearance of Baby Teeth is the C2E2 Diamond Summit ashcan, distributed to retailers at the 2017 Diamond Summit in Chicago.
Rick and Morty is a cartoon network show with a cult following, created by Dan Harmon (Community). Rick and Morty’s comic book from Oni Press has been a sell-out success, being released on April 1, 2015 both issue #1 and #2 have sold out at Diamond and these two books seem to be trending upwards.
In the past ten days Rick and Morty #1 First print has been selling anywhere from $6 to $20!
In the past few days Rick and Morty #2 has been selling for upwards of $20!
The Rick and Morty #1 variants are also doing crazy things – with the Emerald City Comic Con Variant being the clear winner – with an average sale price of $25.
THESE are two books you should be looking for and holding onto!
The ECCC Variant can still be purchased from the ONI Press website for $10! Follow this link!
